Who we are

Kickoff, a Tinker & Scribe product, is operated by Tinker and Scribe Workshop Inc., 1146 Route 895, Elgin, NB E4Z 2M3. Privacy contact: Christopher Mitton, chris@tinkerandscribe.com. We answer access, correction, and deletion requests within 30 days.

What Kickoff stores

Depending on how a program uses Kickoff, we may store:

  • Account — name, email, and sign-in identity for an adult 19 or older. Players are roster records entered by a club or parent. They are not accounts.
  • Household — guardian contact and which kids belong to that family.
  • Roster — player names, teams, and numbers held for the organization.

Player and child information is sensitive. A club, school, or parent provides it. Kickoff does not collect it from children for its own marketing, and we do not use it to advertise. The organization must have authority to give us that information, including parental consent where the law requires it. When a signed-in parent deletes their own household, linked player profiles are deleted in that same request. When a coach or admin removes a player, the roster row is archived and kept so attendance history still points at it. It is not erased on a timer. Season invoices stay for accounting and payment disputes. The product does not run a separate tax-retention clock.

  • Attendance — in or out RSVP for matches (no maybe).
  • Messages — private rooms and leftover chase / copy logs.
  • Bookings — field and pad reservations for the program.
  • Paid / unpaid — registration fee status only. Kickoff never stores card numbers.

Who is responsible

The organization is the controller for registration and parent payments.

Kickoff is the processor. Tinker and Scribe Workshop Inc., 1146 Route 895, Elgin, NB E4Z 2M3 runs the software the organization uses; we do not decide why a school or club collects a registration.

Kickoff is not the merchant for parent registration fees. Those charges go to the organization’s Stripe account. Season plans are separate: the organization pays Tinker and Scribe Workshop Inc., 1146 Route 895, Elgin, NB E4Z 2M3 for Rec, Multi, or District.

Canada / PIPEDA

Kickoff is used by Canadian community and school programs. Under PIPEDA (and similar provincial rules), personal information should be collected for a real purpose, kept only as long as needed, and be something you can ask about. This page is that plain-language notice. It is not a certification and this is not legal advice.

Your choices

A signed-in user can delete their own account and associated parent/household data from Account. That request applies to the signed-in person only. It does not wipe the shared demo league (Moncton Community Soccer League, Summer 2026) for everyone else.

Account identity, sessions, owned non-demo household records, linked player profiles, and removable registration forms are deleted.

Actor identifiers and display labels are removed or replaced with Deleted user on retained shared operational records.

Financial invoices and shared bookings, schedules, polls, facility organizations, tenant relationships, and chat content are retained for operational, accounting, dispute, and legal needs.

A shared facility organization is not deleted merely because one facility manager leaves.

Deletion runs when the signed-in person submits it. There is no waiting period in the product: the account name and email are removed in that request, and labels on shared records that must stay are replaced with “Deleted user”. Bookings, schedules, and season invoices the club still needs remain with the organization; the departing person’s id is cleared from them. The sample league (Moncton Community Soccer League, Summer 2026) is fictional demo data. The people in the demo league are fictional. It is not deleted when one person leaves.

Subprocessors

Services on the production path:

  • Vercel — Hosts the web app when it is deployed.
  • Neon — Production Postgres when DATABASE_URL is set. Account and league data live there.
  • Stripe — Parent registration fees are charged on the club’s connected Stripe account. Kickoff is not the merchant for those fees. Rec and Multi season invoices are charged to the organization on Kickoff’s own Stripe account.
  • Proton — Proton AG. Proton SMTP sends password-reset mail from noreply@tinkerandscribe.com. Resend is not used.

These providers may store information in the United States or another country, where local authorities may be able to reach it. We do not sell personal information.

School IT: see the data processing page for processor / controller roles and subprocessors.
